Getting Started: Clear Information, So You Know What to Expect
Beginning therapy can feel like a big step, so this page outlines the practical details of working with Oakville Wellness — including fees, scheduling, and how the process typically works. If you have questions that aren’t answered here, we’re happy to talk them through during a consultation.

The Initial Consultation
There is no cost for this visit.
The consultation lasts 15-30 minutes, and helps us determine whether we are a good fit to continue moving forward in our work together. It is an opportunity to ask about such matters as scheduling or our approach to therapy, and to reflect on your own comfort level with starting the therapy process.
Fees
Our fees start at $145 per 50-minute session.
Pricing reflects differences in clinician experience, training, and service type. Some appointments, such as the initial assessment, a one-time consultation, or couple/family sessions may take up to 75 minutes and are billed accordingly.
Your intake coordinator will review current rates and options during your consultation.
Benefit Plans and Payment
This is a private service not covered under OHIP. We recommend confirming coverage directly with your insurer; many extended health benefits plans cover psychotherapy services provided by our registered health professionals. We do not bill insurance directly, and all payment processing takes place through the online portal by credit card at the time of your session. Detailed receipts are provided for reimbursement.

Scheduling and Engagement
Therapy is most effective when sessions are consistent and thoughtfully planned. Most clients begin with weekly or biweekly sessions, with frequency reviewed over time based on goals and progress.
While some clients later transition to monthly maintenance sessions, therapy is not offered as a one-off or drop-in service.
Cancellation Policy
If you are unable to attend a session, please cancel at least 24 hours beforehand. Clients will be charged a 50% service fee for appointments cancelled without adequate notice.
